Travel Info
Your arrival & departure will be from the Comandante Armando Tola International Airport, El Calafate, Argentina (FTE) – Transfer time to hotel is approx. 30min. Please note that El Calafate is a 3-hour flight from Buenos Aires.
Visa Requirements: Please, be aware that a visa may be require to enter Argentina and/or Chile, depending on your nationality. You can check here for Argentina and here for Chile.

Day 1: Arrival to El Calafate and transfer to the Hotel. We will have a welcome dinner to meet your guide and fellow photographers.

Day 2: We are up early to photograph Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. This National Park was declared a “World Heritage” site by UNESCO in 1981. And it is one of the very few glaciers in the world that still advances. There are many different views we can explore, ranging from details and texture of the ice walls to the impressive view spanning the approx. 5 km (3.5 miles) of its front wall. Depending on the weather, we may experience one of the glacier’s trademarks and best features, when it breaks!

Day 3: Travel to Torres del Paine – Chile – On this day we need to depart early for Torres del Paine National Park in Chile as it is a long driving day. We will enjoy different views as we travel south through Patagonian prairie (lunch en route) and cross the border to Chile.

Day 4-6: Torres del Paine – We will spend the next 3 full days visiting the park and its more iconic sites like, Laguna Amarga, Cascada Paine, Salto Grande, Grey Glacier, Lake Pehoe, and Lake Nordenskjöld. Torres del Paine is one of the most beautiful parks in all Patagonia with Lake Pehoe’s turquoise waters and the jagged Paine’s Horns. However, there are many excellent locations to shoot from and we will be looking for the best light according to the weather so the exact order which we explore will be determined based on weather and other factors. And trust me when I say that 3 days will feel like too little.

Day 7: Travel to El Chaltén – Argentina – After sunrise and a good breakfast, we drive to El Chalten in Argentina. This will be another full day drive and opportunity to relax, share stories, ensure we have backed up out memory cards, etc., and hopefully see some guanacos on the way north.

Day 8-10: El Chaltén – The next 3 full days we will be spending in the area shooting the Fitz Roy, the Cerro Torre, and the rest of the peaks in this mountain chain. As they face East, the best light to shoot is the early morning, where the light turns the granite red-orange. El Chaltén is the “international” capital of trekking, so we will be exploring different easy trails that start right at the edge of the town looking for different views and angles of the mountains, but also enjoy and photograph its forests and streams. Since we will be spending 3 days here, the exact order which we explore will be determined based on weather and other factors.

Day 11: Travel to El Chaltén Airport: Unfortunately, our adventure has come to an end. You will be transported to the airport for you flight back home, but you will not only be taking with you great images of this wonderful place, but hopefully fantastic memories!
